A Very True Friend

A dog will sit for hours just waiting for you to come home,

It doesn’t matter to them if they’ve been left alone.

As soon as you put the key in the door,

It starts their tail wagging and they’re racing round the floor.

How nice it is to be loved this way,

They just need feeding and to have a play.

A few little treats and you’re onto a winner,

They lick their lips when they smell your dinner.

The loyalty they have stays with them to the end,

Not only a member of the family, but a very true friend.
