Charity encourages people to start a Conversation about Dementia

Greater Manchester charity, Europia, is launching a new project to start conversations about dementia amongst Polish and Lithuanian communities in the UK.

The project aims to raise awareness about the illness, and help people access available support. Working with the Department for Health and Social Care and the Race Equality Foundation, Europia has identified that Polish and Lithuanian communities in the UK are getting less access to existing support and social care due to a lack of understanding about dementia.

Europia works to serve all EU communities. This particular project has been funded specifically to work with Polish and Lithuanian communities. If you are Polish or Lithuanian and think you are living with dementia or know or care for a Polish or Lithuanian person with the signs of the illness or simply want to know more, please contact health@europia.org.uk or call Europia on 0161 541 2686.

For more information, to volunteer as a telephone befriender and to share your experiences to start a conversation about dementia, please contact Europia.

Europia is a Registered Charity (No. 1161453) and is working in partnership with the Department for Health and Social Care and the Race Equality Foundation. This project is currently funded until end October 2020.
