Event to bring together people’s views on what they wish their younger self had known

A free online event is inviting local people from across Greater Manchester to share their responses to the question ‘What would I want my younger self to know (about growing or being older)?’

The event, hosted by Manchester Metropolitan University, take place on Friday November 12 3-4.30pm. It will feature conversations and a Q&A with attendees.

Organiser Dr Sarah Campbell said: “ We’re keen to explore how people view their ageing experience, and the way that they might tell their younger self what it was like to grow older and be older. What advice would they give to their younger self? What is good about being older? And what challenges are there?

“We are keen to gather and share the experiences of people from diverse backgrounds. We welcome contributions from older people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities, who are LGBTQ+, or with a disability.”

The event will form part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2020.
