To be part of a family, you don’t have to have the same DNA,
You might’ve looked after someone each and everyday.
Doing what you do and all you did that was good,
It doesn’t make a difference if you don’t have the same blood.
You’ve always been there, right from day one,
You were treated more like a daughter or a son.
Friendships are made as the years go by,
It just becomes natural and you don’t have to try.
If you bring a smile to someone’s face,
It’s like winning the gold when you’ve run a race.
You’ve included another person into your clan,
They’ve become an extra grandad or a special gran.
Love is what’s bonded you all in the same way,
It had nothing to do with the initials DNA.
