Northern Soul King moves to new platform to Keep The Faith in lockdown

Legendary Northern Soul DJ Richard Searling has launched a weekly online show after his usual slot on BBC Radio Manchester was paused due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Richard Searling – known as the Northern Soul King thanks to a DJ-ing career that saw him grace the decks of Wigan Casino and discover the fan favourite, Gloria Jones’ Tainted Love – has built a loyal following on his weekly BBC Radio Manchester show, which hasn’t aired live since 20th March.

The DJ will continue playing top hits from the era at 6pm every Saturday on the online platform Mixcloud until he is able to return to the BBC Radio Manchester studio.

Northern Soul fans can receive updates of Searling’s latest shows by signing up to his Mixcloud page.
