Pure and Innocent

When babies are born they’re just a blank page,

So pure and innocent at this early stage.

No designer clothes that cost the earth,

Just a little baby grow that fits at birth.

No words yet spoken, they haven’t learnt yet,

Will it be mama or dada, just place your bet.

Learning to crawl to get what they need,

They know exactly when they want a feed.

Next comes walking with a bit of falling,

Turning around when they hear you calling.

It’s a lovely little age but it goes too fast,

If we could wave a magic wand and make it last.

They have to grow up and have lives of their own,

But they never forget, there’s no place like home.
