Talking About My Generation: Mark’s Top Ten Tracks

Our new reporter Mark Quinn shares his top ten track with us. What would you put on your top ten?

  1. Lynyrd Skynyrd – Free bird

First heard this on a horror film ‘Devil’s Rejects’ and fell on love with it, it also as the longest guitar solo ever.

2. ABBA – Our last summer

It is mine and Jeni’s wedding song.

3. John Lennon – Nobody loves you

Such a magical song with only him and his guitar.

4. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Have you seen the rain

I just love the sound of Southern Rock.

5. Bob Dylan – Desolation Row

I get inspired to write poetry when I hear his lyrics they are so meaningful.

6. Eagles – Hotel California

The lyrics are great and I believe it’s about death and it gets you thinking.

7. The Beatles – Fool on the hill

This song is special, If we let others get to us we could crumble, so let’s all be a fool on a hill.

8. Billy Joel – Piano man

The king of lyrics, a story and true life in one song.

9. The Bee Gees – I started a joke

These guys can sing and it is such a beautiful song 1968 my birth year and this also inspired me to write poetry.

10. Chris Rea – Driving home for Christmas

The BEST Christmas song ever…what more can I say.
